Ashwin, Riyaz fight at jail

Lokayukta Justice Y Bhaskar Rao's son and prime accused in the Lokayukta corruption case, Ashwin Rao and suspended Lokayukta joint commissioner Syed Riyaz both lodged at Parappana Agrahara Central Prison, had a fight on Friday.

Riyaz, who was emotional after meeting relatives, reportedly punched Rao. However, the prison authorities rushed to the spot and pacified the two, said sources. A few relatives met Riyaz and informed him about a wedding in the family. Riyaz could not control himself as he thought he could not attend the wedding. He offered the prayer on the occasion of Eid and was returning to his cell. He spotted Rao inside the cell looking at him. Riyaz raised his voice and alleged that Ashwin's acts landed him in the jail, but Ashwin warned him against such allegations.

Riyaz went near Ashwin's cell and claimed that he respected him because he was Lokayukta’s son and joined hands with him. He was put behind the bars because of Ashwin’s misdeeds, Riyaz said and punched Ashwin, sources said. The jail staff rushed after hearing the commotion and pacified the two, added the sources.
