JOIN USA newborn girl kidnapped from the government hospital, Gauribidanur in Chikkaballapur district, was found here after five days.
Mamatha, a resident of Halaganahalli in Gauribidanur taluk, had given birth to a baby girl in the government hospital on August 29. An unidentified woman kidnapped the baby from the hospital same night. A search for the baby across the taluk went futile.
Meanwhile, it emerged a woman abandoned a baby in a BMTC bus in the City on Monday.
The abductor disappeared after handing over the baby to another woman, Lakshmi, who then informed Jagijivanram Nagar police who then informed Gauribidanur police.
The baby has been shifted to Shishuvihara Kendra at Chamarajpet. On Tuesday, the mother and family members identified the baby. It’s custody, however, was not given to the parents since only the child development programme of the distreict concerned could do so.
