Two men riding on a bike intimidated a 65-year-old businessman to steal Rs 5.71 lakh cash from him in HSR Layout in south-east Bengaluru.
At 11.30 pm on Tuesday, Satyanarayan, who owns a petrol bunk in Outer Ring Road, got down from his vehicle to enter his house in HSR Layout Sector 1, when two men on a bike rode towards him, bullied and threatened him before snatching the cash bag from him.
The duo sped off shoving Satyanarayan to the side.
Preliminary investigations on the incident revealed that the duo had followed Satyanarayan for a couple of days from the petrol bunk to his residents, a senior police official said.
Having realised that he was carrying a cash bag, they snatched it at an opportune moment.
Police are analysing CCTV camera footage near Satyanarayan’s residence and at the petrol bunk.
They also have definite clues on the duo involved in the robbery and would be arrested soon, the police official said.
