A 30-year-old man from Chennai was arrested for secretly filming a woman at PVR Cinemas in Phoenix Market City, East Bengaluru, on Thursday night.
The woman, 25, had arrived at the multiplex along with brother and a friend. They had come to watch a film and were sitting in the lobby, waiting for another friend to join them. Around 9.45 pm, the woman noticed the suspect, identified as Gowtham, filming her on his mobile phone. She informed her brother and friend who caught Gowtham red-handed.
The suspect was then taken to the jurisdictional Mahadevapura police station where his phone was checked, and videos and photographs of random girls were found in it. Police booked him under IPC section 354(C) (voyeurism) and under the Information Technology Act. Gowtham is a dance teacher by profession and had got married just two months ago, police said.
