A delegation led by the United Arab Emirates Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Sheikh Abdullah bin Al-Nahyan on Saturday met Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy the possibility of setting up a consulate in Bengaluru.
According to a statement from the chief minister’s office, the UAE seeks a cooperation in the areas of science, technology, infrastructure among others. While, Kumaraswamy said the government anticipates a collaboration and investment in health, education and agriculture. UAE’s national oil company Adnoc has agreed to store crude oil in India and Karnataka is constructing underground storages in Padur for crude oil. The two also discussed faculty, student exchange programmes and scholarships.
