Man kills physically challenged son, commits suicide

A 40-year-old man killed his seven-year-old physically challenged son and later committed suicide by hanging from a ceiling fan at his house in Chandrappa Layout, Northeast Bengaluru.

The police suspect that the incident could have happened in the morning but came to light at around 2:30 pm when his wife Pramila and daughter Dhanya returned home.

Chandrashekhar, the deceased, was working in a garment factory in Yelahanka and was a diabetic. His deceased son is identified as Lokeshwar.

A senior police officer said the child was smothered to death while Chandrashekhar who was found hanging from the ceiling fan.

The police found a suicide note written by Chandrashekhar which read that no one was responsible for their deaths.

The bodies were shifted to a government hospital for post-mortem.

The Vidyaranyapura police have registered a case and are investigating.
