It is no wonder that Jasmine Jerry of Kendriya Vidyalaya DRDO, C V Raman Nagar, came second at the national-level among students of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sanghatan.

The daughter of two scientists, Jasmine has always loved science and this helped her score 492 out of 500 or 98.4% in the CBSE Class 12 examination.
“My mother, Sheena Jose is a scientist in Isro and father Jery Varghese is in DRDO. From my childhood, my parents encouraged love for the subject so I never thought of it as a burden,” she said.

Jasmine, who scored a perfect 100 in Mathematics, wants to pursue a BE in Electronics from one of the top six Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). She is into quizzing and bagged the NTSE scholarship in class 10 and KVPY fellowship in class 12.

Just a day after securing third rank in the Under Graduate Entrance Test (UGET) conducted by Comed-K, Rudrapatna Vallabh Ramakanth found more reason to celebrate as he has secured 98.2% in class 12 and topped the Science stream at Sri Kumaran Children's Home. He scored 100 in Chemistry, 99 in Maths and Computer Science and 98 in Physics.

According to Ramakanth, being regular with his revision and consistently spending four to five hours studying were key to his success, which includes scoring 100 in Chemistry.

“I want to study pure science, particularly Physics, in the Indian Institute of Science (IISc). If not, I would like to pursue either mechanical or computer science engineering,” he said.
