Surana College walks away with 1st prize in first round

The curtains went up on the eighth edition of Metrolife Fashion Show at NMKRV College For Women on Saturday.

The south zone preliminaries saw Surana College walking away with the top honours for an ethnic collection that was rich and vibrant and showcased erstwhile royal couture of our country.

The second prize went to The Oxford College of Science. They highlighted the importance of recycling through clothes made from trash like garbage bags, paper plates, computer wires and more.

The third place was bagged by Jain College, V V Puram. The boys wore mostly black and teamed their outfits with swords and shoulder drapes. The girls wore saris in unique ways.

The fourth prize went to KLE Society's S Nijalingappa College. The students turned their clothes into canvasses and sported vibrant designs on their eclectic outfits.

The fifth place went to Jain College, Jayanagar. They showcased an ancient Egyptian line in shades of black and gold. The judges for the event were model turned actor B V Bhaskar, designer Runa Ray, model and actor Rahul Rajashekaran Nair and model and actor Praveen Jain. The emcee for the event was M J Amar.

The north zone preliminaries will be held on September 1 at CMR College of Law. The finals will take place on September 8 at Dayananda Sagar Institutions.
