Techie commits suicide over family dispute

A 29-year-old software engineer committed suicide by hanging at this house in Bellandur on Tuesday night. The deceased, Madhav Satya Sai, may have taken the extreme step over family disputes, the police suspect.

According to the police, the incident came to light in the early hours of Wednesday when Sai's wife Lekhini came to check on him and found him hanging from the ceiling fan. She informed her parents and neighbours, who shifted the victim to hospital. But he was declared brought dead. There was no suicide note found, the police said.

Sai's parents have told the police that he decided to end his life as he was unable to bear his wife's harassment. The couple had been married for a year.

The Bellandur police have registered a case of unnatural death, and are investigating.
