‘Tortured’ by wife, man ends life

A car driver committed suicide over 'harassment' by his wife and her family.

S Srinivas (34) was a resident of Manjunatha Nagar near Bagalagunte.

Following a complaint by his brother Raveeshwara S, police registered an FIR against Srinivas's wife Suma, her father Ganganna, mother Sharada and brother Suneel, booking them for abetment to suicide.

Raveeshwara said that Srinivas married Suma a year ago and ever since his wife and her family members were harassing him.

Recently, Srinivas left his in-laws' house and returned home, Raveeshwara said.

"On May 17, we went out of the city. When we came back on May 19, we found him hanging from the ceiling fan and found a death note," Raveeshwara said.
