'CM should withdraw statement on hurting sentiments'

Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy should withdraw his statement that the celebrations at the killing of terrorists will hurt the sentiments of a particular community, MLC Kota Srinivas Poojary urged on Monday.

He was addressing reporters at the Circuit House and recollected that District In-charge Minister U T Khader had said that the Congress was worried about the country, while the BJP was worried about seats. He countered Khader’s statement, saying, “The BJP is worried about the country and its armed forces, while the Congress is worried about terrorists operating on Pakistan soil.”

Poojary said that the government had succeeded in collecting only 16 lakh applications from the 76 lakh beneficiaries under the Centre’s Krishi Samman Yojana. “If the government continues to play politics, then the BJP will be forced to stage a dharna,” he added.

Asked if the BJP would be fielding MP Shobha Karandlaje from Udupi in the coming Lok Sabha elections, Poojary said that the decision was left to BJP chief Amit Shah.
