In a press meet here, he said as per the memorandum of understanding(MoU) with the State government, the State has provided the airport with all the basic facilities like power, water supply and police security.
A team of 52 City Armed Reserve(CAR) policemen are deputed for the security of the airport, he said.
Advisory committee
The district administration has formed an advisory committee comprising Deputy Commissioner, police commissioner and MP.
The committee would coordinate with private airlines to start operations and rope in more services in coming days.
Four-lane project
To a question over the proposal of National Highways Authority of India(NHAI) to convert the existing Nanjangud road into a four-lane road jeopardising the airport expansion plans, the MP evaded the question and said: “The matter will be pursued after Dasara.
We will hold talks with the Infrastructure department of the State government on the land acquisition process and coordinate with the NHAI.”
Volvo service
Volvo bus services would be offered from Mysore airport to city, he added. Deputy Commissioner Harsh Gupta, Police Commissioner Sunil Agarwal, officer of Airport Authority of India (AAI) Rajeev Gupta, Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Sathyavathy and others were present.
