JOIN USThe engineering section would implement projects under the World Bank-aided drinking water supply project in 1,600 villages in 500 Gram Panchayats, Shettar said on Tuesday.
The World Bank had sanctioned an additional grant of Rs 825 crore for the implementation of the project, he said after inaugurating the ‘Jal Nirmal’ scheme for 11 districts of North and Hyderabad Karnataka regions, at Kusugal.
He said: “Proposals have been submitted to the chief minister and the Finance Department to sanction grants on the basis of the population in each GP.”
Dharwad MP Pralhad Joshi urged the Chief Minister to lead a delegation from the State to the Prime Minister to urge the Union Government to sanction Rs 1,452 crore for the eighth phase of work under the Pradhana Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana.
