Two NDFB activists held

Dedung Daimary alias Khangur (about 25 years) and his wife Nisha Daimary, also of the same age, were nabbed after the Assam police informed the Bangalore police of their activities.

DCP (South) Sonia Narang said the couple had been staying in the City since May. “They had called up the official many times from their cellphones. They wanted him to deposit money in a specific bank account number. After being tipped off by the Assam police, we began tracking them. At 4:30 pm, we succeeded in arresting them,” Narang told Deccan Herald. Dedung commands influences in the NDFB ranks as he is the nephew of its chief Ranjan Daimary, Narang added. The couple will be produced before the Magistrate later.
