Jagadeesh, son of Minister Katta Subramanya Naidu was lodged in Parappana Agrahara jail after a lower court denied him bail.

The High Court has directed Jagadeesh to furnish a personal bond for Rs 50,000 and two sureties each for a like sum. He has to surrender his passport to the Lokayukta police and report to the jurisdictional police every Sunday.

He is told not to contact witnesses to threaten them in anyway nor to destroy evidences, and cooperate in the investigation. Violation of conditions would attract revocation of the bail.

In his bail petition, Jagadeesh had said that political adversaries of his father were tarnishing his image through Ramananjappa, the man Jagadeesh allegedly bribed.

He contended that Section 10 of Prevention of Corruption Act under which he was arrested was not applicable to him since he is neither a public servant nor did he induce any public servant by illegal or corrupt means.

Lokayukta probe stayed

Justice V Jagannathan also stayed investigation by Lokayukta in another matter in which the petitioner had sought quashing of the FIR.
