The minister said India has been trying to build cordial relations with Pakistan and hoped for "reciprocity" of these efforts.

"We would like cordial relations with Pakistan. We have made every effort at every stage to be good neighbour with Pakistan. We expect there will be reciprocity from Pakistan," Krishna said in response to a question at a press conference here.

"I have invited Foreign Minister Qureshi to visit India when I was in Islamabad (in July) and he has agreed to come to India at my invitation," Krishna said.

He said India was looking forward to Qureshi's visit here and "thereby we will try to enlarge the areas of cooperation between India and Pakistan and perhaps reduce the areas of differences."

To a question on China, he said India has cordial and working relations with that country and "we will continue in that direction to strengthen that constructive relationship".

In response to a question on Afghanistan, the minister said India supports any Afghan-intiated and Afghan-led process to bring about peace and stability in that country.

India also supports the duly-elected government of Hamid Karzai and will continue its developmental works there.
