Tom Hardy baddie in 'Batman 3', Ifans in 'Spider Man'

Hardy, who played a dream forger in Leonardo DiCaprio starrer film, has been signed for a top role but the details are being kept under wraps. However reports suggest that the actor will tackle a negative character, Ace Showbiz reported.

Hardy will next star in 'Mad Max: Fury Road', whose production has been delayed.
Actor Christian Bale is expected to reprise his role as Bruce Wayne aka Batman while Nolan has already confirmed his return to the director's seat. The movie starts shooting reportedly in April 2011 for a targeted July 20, 2012 US release.

Meanwhile, Welsh actor Rhys Ifans has been roped in for 'Spider Man' reboot to play a villain opposite Andrew Garfield's Peter Parker/Spider Man.

Ifans, best known for his role as the quirky flatmate of Hugh Grant in 'Notting Hills', will portray Dr Curt Connors, or better known as The Lizard. 'Spider Man' is slated to hit US theatres on July 3, 2012.
