Maitreyi takes Sub-junior crown

Having eased her way through the draw, Maitreyi was untroubled in the final as well, cruising past her opponent in straight games. Maitreyi won 11-6, 11-3, 11-7.

KS Haripriya had given Maitreyi a good work-out in the semifinal, stretching the eventual champion in each of the three games, even if Maitreyi finally won with a measure of comfort at 11-9, 11-9, 11-8. By contrast, Ridhi had to put her best foot forward to quell a mid-match challenge from Madhurya M in her last-four enounter. Ridhi won 11-8, 11-6, 7-11, 11-5.
