When the train stopped at Hebbal railway station he got down to board the general compartment. Unfortunately, the train started off and he fell in between the moving train and platform resulting in severe injury to his left leg. He also suffered loss of skin, damage to the blood vessels, nerves, muscles, tendons and bones, besides deep wounds to his right leg.
According to Dr Deepu, Consultant Plastic Micro Vascular Surgeon at HOSMAT Hospital, an emergency surgery was done to save his leg. Now Sathyavan needs multiple wound cleaning, skin grafting and free muscle flap surgeries, so that he can return to work.
