Addressing a news conference on Friday, Hunger Project State Co-ordinator Subhadra Gupta informed that the award will be given to theme based writing on ‘Women in Panchayat Raj-bringing education to every child’ and ‘Women in Panchayat Raj-bringing primary health care for all’. The articles published in any print media on the theme between July 15, 2008 to July 15, 2009 may be sent for the award.
The winner will be given a sum of Rs 2 lakh for each category. Gupta said that the award is being given to boost the portrayal of elected women on media. The applications may be sent to The Hunger Project, #316/E, 9th ‘A’ Main, 40th cross, 5th block, Jayanagar, Bangalore.
The Hunger Project is a global strategic organisation committed to the ending of the hunger.
