Two jumbos found dead

A nine-year-old-tusker was found dead at CPT 2 plantation forest at Anekchowkooru forest near Periyapatna. A portion of the carcass was decomposed indicating that the jumbo could have died few days back. The cause of death was  yet to be established. Only a postmortem could help establish the cause of death, officials said.

In the second case, a female elephant was found dead in Maddur sector of Bandipur National Forest. According to officials, the elephant had stopped taking food from past few days. The elephant died a natural death, officials said.
