Meritorious students rewarded

He was speaking after inaugurating the the felicitation of the meritorious students and the retired government employees programme, here on Saturday.

The programme was organised jointly by taluk employees association. He said that felicitation encourages the person to work more for the society.

Block education officer K Manjunath said that government is spending  Rs 18 crore per month for the salary of primary school teachers and Rs 5.15 for the salary of high school teachers.

DySP V Govindiaiah said that it is the responsibility of the employees to ensure that the government’s programme reach the public at large.

Governments programmes can be successful only when the employees work with dedication he added.

In the programme, 12 meritorious students were felicitated. 11 retired employees were also honoured on the occasion.

President of the Employees Association Venkataramana Swamy presided over the
function.

City municipal council president Venkataravana Swamy, taluk panchayat president Manjunath, executive officer Reddappa, tahsildar Nagaraj, municipal commissioner Swamy, technical department Srinivasreddy and others were present on the occasion.
