NID student molester behind bars

The accused has been identified as 26-year-old Gopal Vaghela, a rickshaw puller who stays in a hutment some distance away from the NID campus. Police said that  an identification parade was carried out and the victim had identified him as  the molester.

"Girls from the campus identified him and they told us he was the  same person who had entered into the campus last month as well,'' said Assistant Commissioner of Police V R Toliya.

The campus had been gripped by fear following the incident which also raised questions over its security.

However, students were relieved after the arrest of the offender.
Institute authorities said that security had been  intensified and the police were also carrying out patrolling around the campus.

"Its indeed a relief that the streaker is arrested. We just hope that such incidents will not recur and the security is kept at the maximum since a large number of girls are on the campus," said a student.

Meanwhile, the girl who was injured in the attack has been discharged. She is reported to be recovering.
