Raveendran directed the state government to pay compensation to all the injured or raped, irrespective of its claim of their involvement in violence against police.<br /><br />On March 14, 2007, 14 people were killed and over 100 injured in police firing while protesting against the land acquisition for a special economic zone (SEZ) in Nandigram.</p>
