Minister assures to help tribals

Speaking to presspersons after visiting tribal haadi in Dubare on Monday, he said: “I am not a Forest Minister to give assurance of solving the problems faced by the tribals.

However, as a leader from backward class, I will make an attempt to discuss the matter with the Forest Minister.” “Tribals in Kodagu are living in deplorable condition. Tribals are demanding land to reside in forest itself. However, the demand is yet to be fulfiled,” he added.

Minister directed Somwarpet Tahsildar and other officials to supply ration to the tribals residing in Dubare through mobile ration shop.

The libraries in Kodagu need to be improved, he added.  Jilla Budakattu Krishikara Sangha President J P Raju, Zilla Panchayat former member R K Chandru and others submitted a memorandum to Minister, demanding facilities for the traibals.
