Three journalists from the electronic media, including a cameraman, who had gone there to cover the incident were injured in the explosion.

While one cop from the bomb disposal squad died on the spot, the other person succumbed to his injuries while being rushed to hospital. The other three members of the bomb disposal squad, along with three scribes who were seriously injured, were flown to Patna in a critical condition.

Confirming the incident, Additional Director General of Police (Headquarters) P K Thakur said those who have been injured will be given the best possible treatment.

Meanwhile, the naxalites, who have given a 24-hour bandh call to protest the visit of US President Barack Obama, made railways their soft target and blew up tracks near Kudhani in Muzaffarpur district. As a consequence, a goods train derailed causing disruption in movement of express and passenger trains on the route.

In yet another incident, the naxalites blew up a mobile tower in Bihar’s Aurangabad district to make their bandh call successful.
