“Obama’s visit had brought to us positive hope. But, the US President has only come with expectations on jobs and investment in US and has failed to deliver to expectations of the people of India,” the protesters said.

The CPI(M) demanded that America stop imposing its dictates on Indian foreign policy and respect the sentiments of the largest democracy of the world.

The Indian Government should raise the issue of US company Union Carbide’s (UC) failure in reaching out to the Bhopal Gas tragedy victims and bring those responsible to book. The US should handover UC Chief Warren Anderson to India, they urged.

They also demanded withdrawal of US troops from Iraq and support successful democracy in Afghanistan. Secretary of CPI District committee H R Sheshadri, CPI(M) secretary Jagannath were present.
