Oppn leader Motamma flays BJP Government

Talking to reporters after visiting the Hasanamba temple here, she said many people died and lakhs became homeless after floods ravaged many districts in north Karnataka region. It occurred within one year after the BJP came to power.

The Government has totally mishandled the rehabilitation to flood-hit families. Many beggars died at the beggar’s colony in Bangalore.

 Now, 28 people died from epidemic in home town of State’s Health Minister. But, the Government is not at all worried about the woes of common people.

Motamma termed the distribution of sarees from the Government as a gimmick and said this is being done to woo voters in the coming panchayat elections. The scheme has hurt the pride of women. If the Government was true to its conscious, it should have distributed the sarees when Bhagyalakshmi bonds were distributed, she stated adding that such a programme was not necessary when the elections were fast approaching.

She supported the JD(S) claim that the Government had fixed reservation for the forthcoming panchayat elections in its favour.
