Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj lashed out at the government over the Adarsh Housing and Commonwealth Games scams. She said the spate of corruption cases that emerged between the two Parliament sessions gave an impression that the government was deep into “the terror of corruption”.

JDU-leader Shard Yadav called it a corruption-ridden government. “Corruption has eaten into our moral fabric, entering into our blood,” he said.

Earlier, CPM MP Basudev Acharya sought an adjournment motion and JD-U MP Sharad Yadav pressed for suspension motion on the corruption. It was then agreed that the issue of corruption would be raised during the zero hour.

When the issue was raised by Swaraj, the ruling Congress members tried to shout her down. “Ghotale bhi kartoge aur bolne bhi nahin doge, (You indulge in corruption and then not allow to speak against it),” she said in her riposte.

Swaraj later said response from the  treasury benches was not conducive to built a good
Parliamentary conduct. She said Congress leaders did not do anything to restrain their MPs.
Sushma also said her party had raised many issues during all-party leaders’ meeting with
Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar, which she would like to take up during the winter session.

The list of issues included Commonwealth Games corruption, 2 G spectrum scam, corruption in government schemes, situation in Jammu and Kashmir, role of CBI, Bhopal gas victim’s case and Chinese movement on the borders.
