Accompanied by other officers, Sood inspected R V Road, where Metro work is in full swing. While work on either side of South End Circle has been completed, Sood said that a pillar has to be constructed in the middle. Alternative narrow roads would have to be used by motorists as buses would not be able to turn in the narrow area.

Diversion plans

“We will issue traffic diversion plans on smaller roads and motorists would have to use these roads for the next three months. None of them need to come to South End Circle,” he said. Further, he said the ongoing Metro work would also hit the traffic from Rajalakshmi Circle towards South End Road.

His next visit was to Tagore Circle, the huge eyesore on K R Road. Work has been completed on one side of the underpass and a service road has been opened. Casting of a huge slab in the centre needed to be done next.

This work will begin in January. However, the date for the commencement of work on the other side of underpass has not been announced.

A meeting of officials was also convened to manage traffic on this junction. Sood said the Puttenahalli and the Kadirenahalli underpass was likely to be thrown open to the public soon.
