Police have arrested Anand of Hosalli on Sunday in this regard.
The incident came to light when the Christians had visited the cemetery after the morning mass on Sunday.
SP Manjunath Annigeri visited the spot. It was said that the accused Anand was involved in damaging the statue at Palibetta Poojamma Temple as well. Police said that Anand is mentally unstable.
