FDI director Kuldip Sinha said that a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed with National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) to market the films made by them.

Both FDI and NFDC are government of India enterprises, under the information and broadcasting ministry.

Sinha said FDI, accused of ignoring the commercial aspects of filmmaking, will focus on marketing and distribution.

“Earlier, we did not have the expertise or the infrastructure to market our films. With the arrangement with NFDC now, we can hope to earn some revenue from the sale of these films,” Sinha said.

Established in 1948, FDI has nearly 8,000 films in its database.
