Hand over all scams unearthed in State to CBI, says DCC chief

Last Updated 25 November 2010, 18:43 IST

Addressing a press meet here on Wednesday, he said that the probe will prove whether the Chief Minister and his Cabinet colleagues are innocent or not.

“The state BJP government is the worst government ever seen in the country. No Chief Minister had ever said that previous Chief Minister’s were involved in land distribution and so I will also distribute land. The present BJP MPs and MLAs are involved in looting the wealth of the State,”Rai alleged and said that majority of the Ministers and MLAs are involved in real estate business in Bangalore. There is a need to respect those who are honest in politics, he added.

Strengthening

Stating that Congress will be strengthened at the grass roots, he said “we are ready to face the Zilla Panchayat and Taluk Panchayat election. We will definitely come to power in the Zilla Panchayat.”

To a query on the fate of Zilla Panchayat President Santhosh Kumar Bhandary who became ZP president following the support of BJP, he said “the DCC had filed disqualification complaint with the State Election Commission. However, the plea was rejected as SEC Commissioner Chikamath was acting as the agent of Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa.”

He said that the DCC is ready to give tickets to 17 women, if 50 per cent reservation for women in Zilla Panchayat and Taluk Panchayat comes to force. Congress has been fighting for the cause of weaker sections of the society.

Mutt heads flayed

Flaying various mutt heads for supporting B S Yeddyurappa, Rai said “mutt heads should not indulge into politics. They should not differentiate between Congress and BJP. They should not issue statement like BJP spokesperson.”
