The government has directed the police department to file an additional charge sheet against PDP leader and the prime accused in the 2008 Bangalore serial bomb blast case Abdul Nazir Madani and four others. The government has also cleared a proposal to appoint a special public prosecutor to appear in the case against Madani, he said.

Ashoka said the police department has taken up modernisation of 31 police stations, including six in Bangalore, at a cost of Rs 22 crore. A proposal has been put up to open 15 new police stations in the State.
