Mob goes on rampage at CM's political secretary's house

The group gheraoed Puttaswamy as soon as he alighted from his car. They were heard saying that Puttaswamy had maligned Kumaraswamy for which he (Puttaswamy) would not be spared. The crowd grew restive by 9 pm and barged inside the compound of the residence.

Raising slogans against Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa and in favour of State JD(S) chief H D Kumaraswamy, the protesters damaged pots and cars - one private and another official - parked on the premises. A few window panes were also broken.

Puttaswamy was in the house during the incident. Police rushed to the spot and took 24 people into custody.However, they refused to clarify whether the protesters were JD(S) workers.

Puttaswamy had alleged in a press meet earlier in the day that former prime minister H D Deve Gowda and his sons had grabbed 82 acres of government land at Holenarasipur.
Puttaswamy has lodged a complaint of attempt to murder and other charges.
