He was speaking after kick-starting the programme at Srikantha Girls High School here on Wednesday.

Ramdas said it has become inevitable to groom the students for the forthcoming exams as the district slipped to 26th slot in previous year’s results.

The foundation is spending `2 lakh on the guides available in both English and Kannada languages to facilitate 1,150 English medium students and 550 Kannada medium.

It includes model question papers and answers on Mathematics, Social Science and Science to help students prepare well.

At Srikantha School alone 102 guides were distributed including 43 English medium students and 64 of Kannada.

He appealed to the students to make judicious use of the opportunity, saying their school stands a chance of getting an aid of `2 lakh if they achieve cent per cent results.

This apart books on eminent personalities like Swamy Vivekananda, Valmiki, Shankaracharya among others brought out by Rashtrothana Sahitya Maththu Sahitya Sindhu Prakashana will be distributed at 70 schools in the constituency.

An amount of `2 lakh has been released from MLA’s Local Area Development Fund to Education Department to buy the books.

An exam will be conducted for the students on great personalities in February next.
