<p>During his inspection last Wednesday, Chairman of the panel, H Ravindra, had promised to put an end to footpath encroachment, garbage menace, and curb flesh trade in the area.<br />A hotel here has occupied nearly eight to 10 feet of the adjoining footpath. <br /><br />But the chairman’s visit has had little effect on the encroachment. Even garbage under the flyover has not been cleared yet. Except pulling down a makeshift shed, the BBMP has taken no other action to clear debris and filth in the area.<br /><br />According to BBMP sources, the biggest concern for them is a backlash anticipated in case of demolition of buildings and encroachment clearance.</p>
