The evening was laced with colourful posters, lights and children of all age groups flooded the stadium with their parents to get a good glimpse of their favourite character on the field.  Of all the characters, Ben Tennyson from Ben 10 was quite popular. From t-shirts and badges to masks, everything was about Ben 10 and it looked like he needed the support, after all the match was between his team, Benultimates and Agregor’s Aggressors.

Before the match began, there was the story on how the match began.
According to the tale, Ben invited his plumber agent friends to join him and help protect the world in the Ultimate Showdown against the evil aliens. Aggregor was threatening to harm the environment and destroy the world with the help of his deputy Mojo Jojo. So Ben challenged him to play a game of cricket to save the planet. “It’s an interesting concept and a fun-filled evening for the kids. My son is totally excited to see his favourite character on the grounds and the smile on his face makes it all worthwhile,” said a parent.

As part of the on-air Toon Cricket contest, Bangalore boy, Devyanshu Rout, became the grand winner. As part of the prize, he and his family got an opportunity to have the best seats in the stadium and also meet Ben and Mojo Jojo during the course of the match.

The match was no less than the Indian Premier League, with much entertainment, cheerleaders and a whole lot of screaming from the spectators. Characters from Cartoon Network like Tom, Powerpuff Girls, Popeye actively participated in it while Mojo Jojo also provided his bit of entertainment by trying to cheat and beat up some of the crew members. With 51 runs each, the match came to a tie and then it went into a super over where the game took an interesting turn.

It was a now or never moment when Ben hit a four in the last ball and saved the day and the planet. The children cheered and were ecstatic that Ben’s team won. “Everything about the match was amazing the last over was gripping and I didn’t want the bad guys to win. It was a whole new experience as we only get to see them on television, but now we actually saw them in real life,” said Naveen, a ten-year-old boy.
