Railways' medal winners

Thirteen sportspersons from Indian Railways (IR) participated at the Asiad. Earlier, IR players bagged 25 medals for the country at the Commonwealth Games including 13 gold, three silver and nine bronze medals.

Twenty one sports persons from different zonal railways won various medals in events such as  athletics-10,000m, 3000m, 400m, 4x400m relay, 5,000m, heptathlon, discuss throw, Kabbadi (men and women), archery - team event, wrestling and gymnastics.

Among them, A C Ashwini, Junior Clerk of Divisional Railway Manager's Office, Bangalore Division, Bangalore, South Western Railway, won Gold Medal in athletics-400 m hurdles and also  won another Gold medal in athletics 4x400m relay at the Asiad.

G G Pramila, Office Superintendent of Senior Divisional Commercial Manager's Office, Bangalore Division of South Western Railway, won the bronze medal in heptathlon event.
