I am committed to NASCAR: Narain

“I did go for a simulator test with Force India but that’s all that happened. I’m not willing to comment on what happened during and after the tests. I think, you should talk to (Vijay) Mallya about the results and my performance,” said the first Indian F1 driver on the sidelines of the K-1000 rally here on Sunday.

Narain went through a simulator test right after the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix but insisted that nothing can be said until a contract is signed. “I’m looking forward to the Indian Grand Prix. Every driver would like to be in the inaugural race.” the 33-year-old said.

Karthikeyan, who made his NASCAR debut at Martinsville Speedway on March 27 this year, said that he would continue to be a part of the American event.

“NASCAR looks promising and there has been a lot of support for me,” Karthikeyan said. “It will be a risk to leave something as big as NASCAR. I see myself being in this for some time. Getting out of America and then getting back in is not easy and it is lucrative.”

The Coimbatore driver also added that people from NASCAR are in India and are planning some road shows to get into the Indian racing market.
