The exhibition aims at encouraging folk art. But it is the vibrancy of the festival that catches your attention, not to mention the innumerable stalls filled with everything — from toys to food products, from clothes to fashionable bags. Tasty food, craft workshops, puppet show for kids, and lots of music, dance and entertainment make this bazaar fun for the entire family. The exhibition is not just a treat for the eyes but also a place of tremendous fun for children and adults alike. From the sheer Maheshwaris and Chanderis to the subtle tussars of Bhagalpur and Maharashtra and Bandhini suits and saris from Kutch, everything is available under one roof for the women.

Also available are hand block-print tops, material by the Bodo tribes and black stone pottery from Manipur.

“Events like these are very nice to visit because of the variety of clothing you get. Also, the colours and the embroidery work are a refreshing change from the regular fare,” said Sumudha, a visitor.

Other items include accessories and embellished garments with tribal and mirror work, embroideries from Karnataka, Kutch and Rajasthan which attract attention because of their colours.

The fair also showcases a lot of home accessories, contemporary metal ware, toys for children, and gift items for all ages. You will find everything here including decorated candles, clay pots, paper lamps, colourful bags, brass artifacts, wall hangings, kolhapuri chappals, silver and stone jewellery. If the clothes do not catch your attention, then the accessories definitely will. And while here, don't miss out on the food.

There is a lot of variety available including Pazham Poris, black coffee, bamboo rice, chats and namkeen of different kinds from Karnataka.

In addition to clothes, jewellery, crockery and artifacts, there are folk performances at the fair.

These include Naga war dance, children’s Yakshagana, leather puppet show, folk magic, folk songs and sitar concerts.

For people interested in activities, there is a lot to look forward to with pottery making, hair-braiding and henna art, all of which will keep one occupied over here.
The fair is open till December 12.
