Addressing a Congress workers’ convention, he said the Congress, if elected, will institute a comprehensive inquiry into Yeddyurappa’s alleged involvement in land scams.

The former deputy chief minister remarked that the Yeddyurappa government was existing on “technical” support.

“The Supreme Court’s judgement on disqualified legislators will throw the government out of power. It would be inevitable for Yeddyurappa to seek a fresh mandate then,” he said.

Siddaramaiah said the reservation matrix announced for the forthcoming ZP and TP election that had reduced seats for the backward classes was illustrative of the BJP government’s opposition to reservations for the BCs.

But the government is trying to misguide the people by blaming the Governor for the reservation chaos, he remarked.

“If the people have self-respect, they must teach a befitting lesson to BJP and JD(S) parties in the next election,” he said.

On the government’s advertisements aimed at exposing the denotification cases during the tenure of Congress governments, Siddaramaiah stated that denotification is not a crime as the Chief Minister has the power to denotify land.

But the charges of  nepotism and corruption in denotifying the land by Yeddyurappa had been proved, Siddaramaiah declared and dared Yeddyurappa to prove any such complaints during the Congress governments.

Karnataka Pradesh  Congress Committee president G Parameshwara observed that Yeddyurappa is donating crores of rupees from the State’s exchequer to the temples in Tamil Nadu when the temples in the State are crying for renovation. “The Chief Minister seems to be considering the State as his private property,” he remarked.

Opposition Leader in Legislative Council Motamma, former minister D K Shivakumar and district unit president B Shivaram were present at the convention.
