Polls in four more districts on Dec 31

The decision comes in the wake of the High Court vacating the stay on polls.

Addressing a press conference here Saturday State Election Commissioner C R Chikmath said altogether 111 constituencies will go for polls in these four Zilla Panchayats.

The calendar of events will be announced on Dec 13 and Dec 20 is the last date for filing nominations. The last date for withdrawal of papers is Dec 23. The polls will be held on Dec 31 and counting of votes will be taken up on January 4.

Thus, elections will be held to 15 more districts on Dec 31. Chikmath said that there are requests to lift the model code of conduct in urban areas which are not going to polls. A decision is yet to be taken, he added.
