Supporters demand that Ambareesh be pro-active

The actor-turned-politician has been maintaining a low profile in politics after facing a debacle at both the parliamentary (Mandya constituency) and Assembly elections (Srirangapatna constituency).

His supporters protested against the leader’s lackadaisical attitude towards politics and urged him to ensure that sincere and honest party workers got tickets to contest in the Zilla Panchayat and Taluk Panchayat polls.

Ambareesh who met his supporters assured them of providing justice with regard to allocation of party tickets.

Rumours rife

Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president G Parameshwara is said to have met Ambareesh and urged him to actively campaign for the party in the coming elections.
The meeting between the two assumes significance following rumours about the actor intending to quit the Congress and later joining the JD(S).
