MUDA slams door on citizens

Restrictions
Last Updated 16 December 2010, 17:26 IST

In a letter, S M Krishnaiah, a senior citizen has said it was absurd and irrelevant practice that MUDA is planning. Whereas its reception counter and one of the nationalised banks which are housed in the same building are untouched.

If a person gets the challan filled up in the reception counter and to obtain a copy of the challan duly remitting the prescribed amount in the bank, he will not be allowed inside the offices by the security guard posted at the gates to hand over the same to the official concerned. He has to wait till 3 pm.

If the public want to visit the offices in the afternoon, it becomes an hard task to complete the formalities within the business hours and other unforeseen constraints.

There is no point in keeping the offices insulated from the public entry and it was against the ethical and rationale practices still existing and well-nurtured in the best interest of the people as a whole.

In the current context, Krishnaiah said, the MUDA has to make it public as to what purposes this type of bandobust is resorted.

It is because to curb the entry of unwanted people inside or to prevent its own employees from leaving the offices in the morning hours or to safeguard its strategic areas from being attacked by the anti-social elements.

Nowhere in the State, such a system is in practice. This restriction has to be lifted in order to ensure that the people especially the senior citizens are not put to unbearable glitches in getting their works done with ease and comfort, he added.
