IN BRIEF

‘Music Mechanics’

Music Mechanics, an all-day music workshop with the best musicians in the country, will be held on December 19, 10 am to 7 pm at Cathedral High School, Richmond Road. The workshop is being organised by the Nathaniel School of Music.

For amateurs, the workshop will serve as a launch pad to commit to a longer term course to learn an instrument. Musicians and bands will get to participate in detailed workshops with the best from the industry. The line-up of instructors reads like a who’s who of Indian rock. This include Floyd Fernandes, the jazz/blues guitar god from Mumbai; Muthu Kumar, the percussionist; Gaurav Vaz, the bassist and manager of Raghu Dixit Project; Tony Das of Bhoomi; Ryan Colaco of Kryptos; Jason Zachariah, director of  NSM and
keyboardist for Bhoomi; Allegro Fudge and Caeser’s Palace; and vocal coach Lillian Zachariah.

A wide range of subjects will be covered during the workshop — from technical, instrument and tool driven workshops on playing and production, to more soft skill talks on presentation, stage presence and the business side. You can enroll at www.nathanielschool.com/mech.php. Tickets are priced at Rs 600 for the full day spanning at least six workshops of your choice.
