Srinivasa (40), is a native of Hindupura in Andra Pradesh. He had settled down at Bommanahalli, said Bangalore Rural SP BA Mahesh.

Tipped off, police took Srinivasa into custody near D Cross. He told the police that due to frequent accidents he had suffered losses in his business and was depressed.

After his theft of a tractor, he went to Hosadurga in Chitradurga district, where his brother was staying. He sold the tractor to a farmer there for Rs 50,000.

Finding felony paying, he began stealing tractors parked near lonely houses. Srinivasa sold them to different persons telling them that he would initially take an advance amount, varying from Rs 50,000 to Rs one lakh.

He told them he would collect the remaining amount after delivering the original records, the SP added.

Hebbagodi police arrested Kaverappa, Chethan and Paramesha, all residents of Avalahalli and recovered two vehicles.

They had robbed Amaresh Reddy, a lawyer and a resident of Chinchalamalavadi village on December 13 night and had fled with one bracelet, a gold chain, a gold ring and a mobile phone worth Rs 1.50 lakh.
