Christmas celebrations are not restricted to homes alone. They have now extended to corporate houses and IT companies, where one can see a lot of festivities happening. The offices are decorated and sweets and gifts distributed. To add to the celebration, games are also conducted. Metrolife takes a look at the Christmas celebrations in various offices.

Says Prem Kumar S, an IT professional, who works for HP. “We have a unique way of celebrating Christmas. We arrange different kinds of games like stage shows, fashion shows, skits, group songs, dances and some funny eating competitions. It is hilarious to watch people when they take part in the eating competition. These are the times when we bond with our seniors and get a break from the monotony of work.”

But it is not just about games, it is also about those sinful delicacies that follow Christmas celebrations. Poojitha, a PR professional says, “Christmas is always celebrated in our office. We play secret Santa games for the whole week and surprise our colleagues with special gifts. Our celebrations end with loads of chocolates, Christmas cakes and a good lunch or dinner.”

Rajani Chandan, a senior systems engineer with Infosys, always looks forward to the festive atmosphere.

“We decorate our office completely with colourful items. Christmas trees, cribs and carols are always a part of our celebrations. We also decorate the cubicles, play games and exchange gifts. A few of us also try to raise funds for needy children and distribute sweets and cakes to them,” she says.

Asha, a software engineer, says, “We usually dress ourselves in colourful clothes on Christmas day. This is followed by the usual games and competitions. The lucky person who recognises the Santa Claus under the mask gets a special gift. This is so much fun as the Santa could be anyone from our office. The curiosity is always there.”

For Pramod, who owns an ad agency, the festival is about sharing his happiness with his co-workers. “We usually distribute sweets and chocolates to employees and their families. It gives me immense pleasure in doing so. Christmas is about multiplying happiness and sharing the joy.”

For many professionals, Christmas is synonymous with  lip-smacking delicacies and endless recreation at workplace.
