CM's reply upsets Governor H R Bhardwaj

Last Updated 20 December 2010, 19:16 IST

Speaking to the media on the sidelines of a book launch in the State capital, the Governor said: “No, I’m not satisfied. I had posed two fundamental questions, which are still on my mind and are causing me a lot of mental tension. Instead of being obliged to me for pointing out what it needs to be done for the welfare of the people, they are criticising me. I asked the first question on the ministers in the government indulging in illegal mining and earning crores of rupees at the cost of the State exchequer.

The matter is of serious concern. Any lay citizen can be immediately dealt with by the law enforcement agency, but nothing moves against powerful people. This is what is being demonstrated. I got a two-line reply to my letter without telling me what action has been taken,” the governor fumed.

Bhardwaj said he was not deterred by the adverse remarks against him and  had every right to seek information.
