In her address, Pramila Aiyappa said a sportsperson could achieve feats only when one nurses a passion and love for the sports one played. Every player should dream of achieving greater heights in his sports career, which catapults him to success, she said.

Pramila said she worked hard to bag a medal in the Asian games. There is no short cut to success. The sportspersons should respect their own personality and the sports they play. More than 300 sports persons including men and women from various divisions of city police - CAR, Narasimharaja division, Krishnaraj sub division, Devaraja division, KARP and traffic division will compete in more than 25 events for the next two days.

The events include 800 mts race for men, long jump, shot put, discus throw, 4X400 mts relay and 4X100 mts relay for men and women, rifle shooting, 5000 mts race, high jump, javelin throw, hammer throw, passing the ball, lemon spoon race for women and others.
Police Commissioner Sunil Agarwal, DCP (law and order) Basavaraj Malagatti, DCP (Crime and Traffic) Rajendra Prasad, DCP(CAR) R Prabha Shankar, Commandant of mounted KARP police Mariba Shetty and others were present.
